On its tenth year, the Brand New Films from Germany program continues to bring prominent films from contemporary German cinema to film enthusiasts in Turkey. Highlighting the Brand New Films from Germany program’s tenth anniversary, this year’s title is also a reference to the selection with films depicting stories from various decades of the twentieth century. The selection includes fiction films as well as documentaries that portray the historical period from the 1920s to today. The program opens with 3 Days in Quiberon, which depicts the process of the famous Stern magazine interview with Romy Schneider, during the final stage of the actress’s career. Another film included in this year’s Brand New Films from Germany is 303, the new film by Hans Weingartner, known for his film The Edukators. A very intriguing documentary in the selection is Hitler’s Hollywood directed by film critic Rüdiger Suchsland. There will also be a special screening of Suchsland’s 2014 film From Caligari To Hitler. Rüdiger Suchsland will be attending the screenings of his films on the 1st and 3rd of November. There will be a Q and A session following both screenings.
