Inspired by International Women's Day on March 8th, Istanbul Modern Cinema presents a selection of films about individual and collective struggles in different periods and locations in modern history. The program “It's Not Over Yet” begins with Fritz Lang's 1931 masterpiece M and moves on from the uprising in Chile to the struggle for freedom of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. The most recent film in the selection is the Golden Globe and Oscar-winning I'm Still Here (2024), which tells the true story of Eunice Paiva, a woman who waged a struggle both at home and against the state in the backdrop of the military dictatorship in Brazil in 1971.
