Director: Patricio Guzmán
Chilean master documentary filmmaker Patricio Guzmán explores the Estallido Social (social outburst) that began in Chile in October 2019 and turned into one of the largest social uprisings in the country's history. Society was forced to confront long-ignored inequalities when protests by high school students in Santiago against public transportation hikes quickly spread across the country. Documenting the disproportionate use of force by the state and the transformation of the streets into a battleground, the film tells the painful but hopeful story of transformation.
