In collaboration with the Dutch Consulate, İstanbul Modern Cinema presents a selection of films with which Paul Verhoeven put his stamp on European cinema before he took off for Hollywood. “A Dutch Tale”, whose opening session will be attended by Mr Verhoeven himself, consists of six feature films that the director realized between 1971 and 1983. As such, it will be an important opportunity for those who’d like to become acquainted with the passion and originality that was characteristic of Paul Verhoeven’s film-making before he went on to create such Hollywood blockbusters as RoboCop (1987), Total Recall (1990), Basic Instinct (1992), Starship Troopers (1997), and Hollowman (2000).
