After the death of his wife Berna Tuna, a renowned academic, Macit is confronted by some internal reckoning. Macit, a “White Turk” committed to the values of the Turkish Republic, attempts to repair his relationship with his daughter İpek, whom he has neglected for years while testing the attachment of his son Alp and his wife's assistant Feyza to whose inheritance couldn’t quite grasp this. The Grand Siege not only offers unique character analysis through the individual's inner conflicts, it also paints a powerful and satirical portrait of a vanishing “old Türkiye” with its use of space and cinematography.
