THE DOG WHO WOULDN’T BE QUIET (EL PERRO QUE NO CALLA), 2021
Argentina | HDD, B&W, 73’ | Spanish
Director: Ana Katz
Cast: Raquel Bank, Daniel Katz, Valeria Lois

The protagonists of Argentinian director Ana Katz’s film that premiered this year at Sundance Film Festival is Sebastian, who is in his thirties, and his beloved dog, who cries all the time when he is not at home. The film captures the uncanny zeitgeist of our times and there is a catastrophe that threatens global health. In the black and white film, the turbulent events from the characters’ lives are depicted through short stories. A dog who always barks and a global pandemic, in this science fiction film humane vulnerabilities are both singular and universal; and there are surprises just like in life itself.
