Australia’s Oscar candidate for 2013 is about young Lore, who, after her Nazi parents’ arrest by the Allied forces in 1945, takes her siblings on a 900 kilometre long journey to her grandmother in Hamburg. A Jewish refugee named Thomas whom she meets in the midst of post-war turmoil, poverty and sorrow turns Lore’s world upside-down. In order to stay alive on this dangerous journey, Lore has to rely on a person whom she was taughtto hate. This is a drama about post-war sufferings and hardships of growing against a changing world.
