This debut feature film tells the story of Defne, a 20-something art restorer on a journey of self-discovery. Following the death of her roommate, Defne abandons her doctoral studies in Paris, returns to Istanbul, and starts working as an intern at a gallery. She is asked to restore a painting from the Ottoman period. Via the character of Defne, who tries to recover despite the losses and pressure from society she has experienced in addition to the feeling of not belonging, Inpaintings tries to understand the crises and depression of young people of today by establishing a relationship with art.
