Şükran is a woman in her 40s working at a ticket window in the Haydarpaşa train station. Her son Veysel works in a wire-drawing mill. Şükran, who suffered much because her now deceased husband got mixed up in political events, tries to keep her son away from such activities. But one day Veysel disappears. Şükran goes from door to door looking for him; not convinced that he has been killed and upon information she obtains she goes to Mardin in search of him. In this first film Tayfun Pirselimoğlu presents a story full of surprises and Zuhal Olcay received the award for “Best Actress” at the Istanbul Film Festival for her successful rendition of a lonely mother looking for her child without paying heed to crime, bureaucracy, or ideology.
