Türkiye, Greece | DCP, Color, 109’ | Turkish
Cast: Ruhi Sarı, Nurcan Ülger, Mehmet Avcı
Reşat, who works in a small counterfeit DVD shop in Altınşehir, seeks petty thefts to bring thrill into his asocial and monotonous life. One day, when Celal, a friend of Reşat's boss, leaves a package containing a pistol and a photograph of a woman in the shop, a dangerous path opens up for Reşat. He heads to the address written on the package, where the couple Emin and Türkan enter his life. Haze tells the intersecting story of characters who can only see Istanbul from afar, through the haze, who live alienated and dark lives crammed in the slums, with a slow pace and sparse dialogue.
In the eighth edition of its "Rendezvous with Directors" program, Istanbul Modern Cinema continues to host directors who stand out with their artistic identities and unique approaches in Türkiye’s contemporary cinema culture.
