Belgrade, 1958. In the middle of the Cold War, a group of young communist scientists are irradiated with lethal amounts of uranium while conducting an experiment. They are sent to Paris by Professor Mathé for treatment. Believing that they are building a nuclear weapon, Mathé proposes a human bone marrow transplant, a first for the time. What will be the consequences of this first experiment on living people? Revealing a little-known historical event at the intersection of medicine and nuclear science, the film also carries references to the reality of nuclear war, which is still on the world agenda today.
