AND LIFE GOES ON (ZENDEGI VA DIGAR HICH), 1992
Iran | HDD, Color, 95’ | Persian
Director: Abbas Kiarostami
Cast: Farhad Kheradmand, Buba Bayour, Hossein Rezai
Three years have passed since Where is the Friend’s Home? and the director goes on a journey with his son. Their quest is to find Ahmed and the other kids in the first film after the earthquake that left half a million people homeless. Passes and roads are closed. Observing life trying to pick up after a disaster, the film shares with the others in the trilogy some signature trademarks: a poetic expression of visual space, nonprofessional actors, and a narrative structure that conveys complex meanings through simple cinematic means while questioning fiction itself.
