Motion, Sound, and Light with Middle School Students

Motion, Sound and Light with Primary Education Level 2 Students (Grades 5 to 8)

This program takes an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary art, bringing the subjects of art together with those of science. 

Visiting Istanbul Modern’s collection exhibition with a museum educator, the children learn about the concepts of "motion", “sound” and “light” through Ömer Uluç's "Landscape Bird, Forest Fire I, Forest Fire II", Mehmet Güleryüz's "Motard III”, Sarkis's "Flares!?”, Canan Tolon's "Manège” and Serkan Özkaya’s “Piano Elevated by Three Baloons”. They complete the program by examining the creative processes of the artists and the materials they use in their artworks.
