Istanbul Modern Cinema is launching a new program series. “Director’s Choice” is a program comprising films that a director loves or has been influenced by. Our first guest director is Nisan Dağ. Having made a name for herself with her works titled When I’m Done Dying and Midnight at the Pera the Palace, Dağ chose films by five women directors who have helped cultivate her filmmaking. Among the films in Dağ’s selection are the recipient of this year’s Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival, Alcarràs’s director Carla Simón's previous film Summer '93; Jordana Spiro's directorial debut at Sundance titled Night Comes On, and Electrick Children directed by Rebecca Thomas and starring Julia Garner, whom we most recently watched in the TV series Inventing Anna. The program can be watched online and free of charge.
