Istanbul Modern wins an Architecture MasterPrize

Istanbul Modern has been honored in the Cultural Architecture category of the prestigious Architecture MasterPrize (AMP), one of the world’s leading architecture award programs.

Istanbul Modern has received another international recognition this year. Earlier in 2024, the museum was listed in National Geographic's “Best of the World” and Architectural Digest's “Works of Wonder 2024”, then named “Building of the Year” in the Cultural Architecture category by ArchDaily, one of the world’s leading architectural platforms.

Now, Istanbul Modern’s new museum building, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, has won an Architecture MasterPrize in the Cultural Architecture category. It is also listed in the award program’s “Best of Best” selection, given to seven of the 14 buildings in the same category.

Since 2007, the Architecture MasterPrize celebrates creativity and innovation worldwide in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, architectural product design, and architectural photography, Previous prize winners include the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, Germany; the Royal Opera House in London, UK; the Kunstmuseum in Basel, Switzerland; the Csontváry Museum in Budapest, Hungary; and the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid; Spain.

The award will be presented to Istanbul Modern on November 18, 2024, at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain.
