A masterful commentary on brotherhood and fate, this final film of the trilogy is considered Krzysztof Kieślowski's greatest work. In Geneva, Valentine is caught in the biggest storm of her life after a relationship with a retired judge who is much older than herself. One day, she discovers that the old man suffers from the rather strange psychological problem of listening to his neighbors' phone calls. Focusing on people in search of their other half, the red in the title and cinematography is one of the three colors of the French flag, representing the growing bond between two very different characters. Three Colors: Red was the last film directed by Kieślowski.
