The latest film by the directors of Loving Vincent, the world's first feature-length oil painting film, is a drama set in 19th-century Poland. This cinematic feast about the love triangle that ensues when a beautiful young girl, Jagna, marries an old landlord, is based on Władysław Reymont's Nobel Prize-winning novel of the same name. Depicting the change of seasons, life in the fields, and human relationships, the film is created with a hand-painting technique inspired by 19th-century impressionist paintings. Initially shot with actors, oil paintings were subsequently produced for the 79,000 frames that make up the film.
This film can be viewed on February 17, - 13.00 & February 25, 17.30
