Director: Derviş Zaim
This documentary about the life of Mustafa Serttaş, a notorious swindler and thief known in Cyprus under the nickname "Tavuri", is the product of eight years of work by Zaim. Serttaş, who grew up in a poor and broken family and spent half of his life in prison, started stealing as a child, and it soon turned into his obsession. Zaim has filmed the last five years of the life of Serttaş, whom he has known since childhood, and some of the filming takes place in prison. When Tavuri gets out of prison, will he start a new life, or will he slowly prepare his own end? The director has complex feelings for the country's biggest swindler, and through Tavuri, asks us questions about society, evil, crime and punishment.
