Enyedi participated in the series about the transformations brought forward with the 20th century, with his portrayal of miner Tamás and the shy nursery teacher Juli’s love story filled with many hurdles. Mainly focusing on the needs of people and putting aside national and global concerns of the period, the director depicts the story of these two lovers, who had promised one another to meet at the town bar on the New Year's Eve connecting 1999 to 2000. This innocent but also complicated love story, which ends at the turn of a century is brought to the movie screens with a combination of Enyedi’s unique style of social realism and a magical visuality.
