Southlooks at the American South, following in the footsteps of William Faulkner and James Baldwin. Shortly before Chantal started working on the film, a black man was murdered by three white men in Texas, which led to a huge reaction. In the film, Chantal tells this story from her own perspective and seeks the voice of the southern silence.
