Starring the director himself as Hank, alongside his wife and their children, as well as untrained wild animals, this unusual film depicts the complex relationship between the animal and the human body.Tippi Hedren and her daughter Melanie Griffith also star in this adventure cult film. Despite being shot with 150 wild animals, including panthers, lions, jaguars, cheetahs, leopards, and giant elephants, no animals were harmed during its making, but 70 members of the cast and crew were injured. Taking place over two days in the life of Hank, who lives in the wild, and his family who visits him, this surprising film took five years to complete and eleven years to be released. No stunt performers were used and there was no CGI, while the wild animals chasing the actors are as real as can be.
