Reported Missing / Die Vermissten
Jan Speckenbach, 2012, 88’
This feature-length film by Jan Speckenbach begins with the story of a divorced couple searching for their 13-year-old daughter. But as the plot unfolds “Reported Missing” turns into a surprising dystopia and impressive allegory. The film, which despite its modest budget succeeds in creating an atmosphere all its own, underscores how children and adults perceive the world differently. Starring experienced actor André Hennicke, the film premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival in the section “Perspektive Deutsches Kino.” Not to be missed by those who wish to discover a director with a brilliant future.
