Director: Nelson Carlo de Los Santos Arias
Cast: Jhon Narváez, Sor María Ríos, Fareed Matjila

Winner of the Best Director Award at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, this hallucinatory docudrama explores power, language, and spirituality from the perspective of a hippopotamus. Voiced by four different actors in various languages, the hippopotamus narrates its own history with an electronic bass voice. Speaking from the "other side" after being killed in Colombia, the animal is a descendant of the hippos transported across the Atlantic for Pablo Escobar's zoo. Highlighting the cyclical nature of colonialism, Pepe presents a visually diverse world, transitioning from archival material to nature footage shot in Africa, and utilizing formats ranging from 16mm to black-and-white.

For the Thursday screening of this film, visitors can collect their tickets at the museum desk on the day of the screening. Tickets are free for residents of Türkiye.
