Adapted from the award-winning article published in Esquire magazine, the film focuses on the concept of friendship. Dane (Jason Segel) wants to support his college friends Nicole and Matthew (Dakota Johnson and Casey Affleck) after Nicole is diagnosed with terminal cancer. He moves in with his friends, who now have two daughters. What initially begins as a process of rearrangement ends up costing Dane his job and relationships. Bringing an ordinary story to life with a warm and sweet air, the film investigates the theme of terminal disease without resorting to melodrama, adding depth to its characters and focusing on particular moments. The biggest strength of the movie is its cast.
