Mustang had its world premiere at the 68th Cannes Film Festival, returned from many world-renowned festivals with awards including Best Film, and has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film both at the Golden Globe and the Academy Awards. The film is about five orphaned adolescent sisters who live with their grandmother in a small town by the Black Sea and their struggle for freedom and resistance against the prison-like life they are forced to live due to the social constraints imposed on them.
