The film follows Fatma and her two daughters, Najeh and Waffeh, who work as musicians for wedding ceremonies in Mahdia, Tunisia. Their music is full of love and hope, but their lives are complicated and bitter. The divorced Najeh is trying to remarry to escape the wrath of her siblings, while Waffeh is trying to find a way to leave her abusive husband. The documentary follows the dramatic lives of Fatma and her daughters as they struggle between dreams and disappointment, while standing up to men and defying social norms.
