Lambis the first Ethiopian film to have made it in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. In the film, 9 year-old Ephraim is sent to live with distant relatives after his mother dies and takes his only friend –a pet lamb– with him. One day his uncle tells him that they have to slaughter the lamb for the Feast of the Holy Cross so Ephraim devises a plan to escape. A heartwarming film with a realistic, humanitarian story embellished by folkloric elements shot amid gorgeous landscapes.
