Cast: Nikolo Ghviniashvili, Nika Gongadze
This vibrant and colorful visual debut follows two cousins, Gonga and Bart, in their world of trash and junk. They develop a new business by turning the crosses they collect from the garbage into neon crosses. Filled with colorful cross-sections of people, the film captures the quirks of life in Tbilisi, showing the intersections of different identities in the post-Soviet landscape. With stunning cinematography and a light narrative, the film both celebrates Tbilisi and celebrates the absurdities of modern existence. This year, the film won the “Best Film” in the Golden Leopard – Filmmakers of the Present competition at the Locarno Film Festival.
