Director: Denise Fernandes
Cast: Yuta Nakano, Alice Da Luz, Sanaya Andrade
Set on the volcanic island of Fogo in Cape Verde, the film follows the life of Nana, a baby abandoned by her mother, in three chapters. On a surreal journey from the sea to the volcano, we follow Nana's struggle with a febrile illness and her journey as a young woman. Reflecting the harsh but gentle landscape of the island, the film explores the connection between place and identity, magic and nature. With a poetic sense of magical realism, Nana's journey offers a rich cultural texture while exploring personal growth.
