EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE

EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE(ALT ER RELATIVT), 2008
Denmark | 35mm, Color, 75’ | English, Danish
Director: Mikala Krogh

The feelings that have the same associations in all of us – hatred, love, sorrow and happiness - do they carry the same meanings for all of us? Can the sorrow of a young woman who is fighting with a fatal illness and the sorrow of the family that has lost its village in a flood be completely the same aside from being words? Or does a Bangladeshi worker, a modern-day slave, have the same fears as an American soldier who goes to war? Can our values, hopes and passions take on different appearances only in the flow of our life and yet basically be the same? Everything is Relative is a journey in which scenes have been gathered under themes like love, unhappiness, loss and light. According to the values of being human and the conditions of living this journey both changes and remains the same in our collective feelings. The documentary in which the Prague Symphony Orchestra’s music is played is a emotional and visual projection of the ties among men.
