Dust Cloth won the Golden Tulip for Best Film in the National Competition at the 35th Istanbul International Film Festival. The film tells the story of two women struggling to understand life between the two poles of Istanbul and to forge new paths for themselves. Shuttling between the poverty and wealth of the city, Nesrin and Hatun struggle to understand life and find a foothold for themselves. While Hatun is attempting to save money to buy a house in the neighborhood where she goes to clean, Nesrin tries to confront her loneliness and the absence of her husband who left her, while also struggling to survive with her five-year-old daughter. Although the paths of these two women may be different, their companionship is enduring. A powerful drama about the struggle to cling to life, about womanhood, motherhood, housecleaning and poverty.
