Istanbul Modern presented Artists’ Film International, a program featuring videos, animations, and short films by artists from around the world, in 2019. The focus of the program was “gender” which is a sociological and cultural phenomenon and artist Senem Gökçe Oğultekin was a participant in 2019 on the invitation of Istanbul Modern. Throughout the year, Oğultekin’s video titled "Dun (Ev)", 2018 was on view at the Istanbul Modern as well as other international partners of the program.
Established by the Whitechapel Gallery in 2008, Artists’ Film International included 16 global partner organizations. In the previous years, Istanbul Modern participated in the program with videos by Ali Kazma, İnci Eviner, Ergin Çavuşoğlu, Sefer Memişoğlu, Bengü Karaduman, Burak Delier, Vahap Avşar, Zeyno Pekünlü, Cengiz Tekin and Pelin Kırca.
Within the scope of the program, the artists’ whose videos are shown in the exhibition, with the curatorial selection of Istanbul Modern are:
