The workshop, led by artist Gözde İlkin, explores the motifs and uses of fabrics from various geographies that symbolize resistance. Drawing on the social and cultural memory of fabrics and motifs, the workshop begins with a brief presentation. Participants will then create motifs inspired by natural forms and stitch them as symbols of wishes and intentions. This creative process offers a unique way to connect with the earth, bridging the past and present.

Upcycling Workshops with Artists
At Istanbul Modern, upcycling workshops with artists are organized as part of the Eco Art Lab education program sponsored by Damat Tween. In the upcycling workshops, which focus on topics such as sustainable future, continuity of life for all, and environmental change, together with artists and designers from different fields, participants explore the methods and possibilities of transforming end-of-life items into artistic materials or design products.
