Date: Sunday, February 16, 2025
Time: 13.00–1600
Venue: Eco Art Lab
In this interactive workshop led by artist and academic Ali Asgar Çakmakcı, participants will create a collective poem, expressing their emotions while listening to classical music selected by the artist. They will then mix red clay, flower seeds, and walnut powder—hand-ground by the artist—to shape a book-inspired flower pot. The workshop ends with the planting of laurel saplings, brought from the artist’s hometown of Zonguldak. This hands-on experience invites participants to connect with nature and art, bringing the life cycle into focus as they nurture a growing laurel sapling.

ECO ART LAB
Upcycling Workshops with Artists
In Istanbul Modern's new museum building, upcycling workshops with artists are organized as part of the Eco Art Lab education program sponsored by Damat Tween. In the upcycling workshops, which focus on topics such as sustainable future, continuity of life for all, and environmental change, together with artists and designers from different fields, participants explore the methods and possibilities of transforming end-of-life items into artistic materials or design products.
