The Words of Art

For deaf children and young people

Organized by Istanbul Modern for children and young people who are deaf, “The Words of Art” includes museum educator guided exhibition tours and workshops.

In the workshops “Portraits out of Colorful Shapes”, “Fantastical Images”, and “Transformed Objects”, children and young people tour the museum’s exhibitions in which they examine works of art. During the workshops, they produce creative designs, performances, and pictures inspired by examples of contemporary art.

Held throughout the year, the program includes visual memory and concentration games. “The Words of Art” provides children and young people the opportunity to materialize their ideas and introduces them to new concepts through art.

Istanbul Modern’s education program “The Words of Art” is a free program for deaf children and young people.

The program is offered through educational institutions and organizations supporting education.
