This October Istanbul Modern Cinema will be presenting “4 Men 1 Woman”, a program of films about five mavericks who both made their mark on the history of popular culture and were sources of inspiration for others. The program, which is being held in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Center, begins on October 15th and ends on the 22nd.
The central characters of this eight-day program consist of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the controversial director-scenarist and “bad boy” of Italian cinema; Caravaggio, the first great artist of the Baroque school of painting; Dostoyevsky, one of the greatest psychologists in world literature; Tony Vilar, a legendary South American pop singer of the 1960s; and Sibilla Aleramo, an Italian author and feminist rebel.
