MIA HANSEN-LØVE

MIA HANSEN-LØVE September 21–30, 2023

Istanbul Modern Cinema hosts the rising auteur of contemporary European cinema, Mia Hansen-Løve. Beginning her career as a director at the age of 25 with All Is Forgiven (2007), Mia Hansen-Løve directed seven more feature films after this impressive debut. Her movies display an elegant cinematic language that liberates itself from the weightiness of her narratives by emphasizing the psychology of her characters, which often draw inspiration from the lives of people she knows, delving into the sensory perception of time, and using space and landscapes as characters without voices. Particularly renowned for the emotional connections she established with her audience through the female characters she immortalized in cinematic history, Hansen-Løve herself will be in a live online conversation at this event, in addition to screenings of her feature and short films.

You may purchase your tickets from the museum ticket desk starting from September 21.
