Dream to Matter October 26–29, 2023

Inspired by the women artists in the exhibition "Always Here", Istanbul Modern Cinema continues its "Mind the Gap" project, which aims to raise awareness about gender inequality in the film industry. The focus of the new event will be on production design and art direction, in which the lack of women is felt severely in the film industry.

The guest of the event will be production designer and art director Billur Turan, who has worked on films such as Anatolian Leopard, The Cemil Show, and Aftersun.

Turan has curated a selection of 10 films from world cinema and the cinema of Türkiye titled “Dream to Matter,” highlighting art direction with a focus on female art directors. She will also be presenting a workshop on her career and profession as part of the program.
