In Home for Christmas, we are privy to the stories of people planning to be home onChristmas Eve in the small, snowyNorwegian town of Skogli. The stir of Christmas can be felt throughout the town. Knut is a father-to-be paying a visit to his ailing dad and his friend Paul a man trying to save his marriage. Karin and her drunkard lover Jordon, who has promised her he will leave his wife, have different expectations for the New Year. Townspeople with different lives, hopes, and expectations cross paths on their way back home on Christmas Eve. Taking place beneath the Northern Lights and in the white snow, the film shows the viewer the pieces of the bigger picture through subtle shifts between stories and asks the viewer to put these pieces together.
