İstanbul Modern Cinema’s July program features three new films about design: Sydney Pollack's documentary about his longtime friend, the architect Frank Gehry, Sketches of Frank Gehry (2005) and two episodes of BBC-Imagine series: Inside Out follows the career of the acclaimed architect Richard Rogers and Urban Spaceman documents the life and work of one of the most recognised industrial designers, Marc Newson.

Oscar-winning director Sidney Pollack made his first feature length documentary on his longtime friend, the acclaimed architect, Frank Gehry. In this last film he directed he puts Gehry, an artist defying not only architectural convention but also the laws of physics under his lens.

This BBC documentary traces the career of one of the world’s foremost architects Richard Rogers: The Pompidou Centre (designed with Renzo Piano), Lloyds of London and Millenium Dome. He will be building one of the four new towers at the World Trade Center site in New York. Inside Out offers an inside look at an architect’s remarkable career full of awards.
