İstanbul Modern Cinema presents a program of musical documentaries between October 3-31, in cooperation with the magazine Bant: “Music or Cinema?” In this selection where the cameras are turned to music and the cinematographic narration is focused on music, there are groups and musicians that have changed the history of music, that are kept in the background, are beginning to be discovered, the off-the-record movements of music, and extraordinary music lives pass through. This program of 11 documentaries ranging from the punk analysis of Don Letts to the psychedelic rock history of Cambodia, from funk chemist Bernie Worrell to the inter-urban musical experiments of the avant-garde guitarist Fred Frith, from Anatolian rock to Arthur Russell is also a first in Turkey in this area as it comprises only musical documentaries.
