Within the scope of the exhibition “Day, Light, Night”, Istanbul Modern Cinema hosts a design- and lighting-oriented film program prepared by Tepta. The program features documentary shorts that promote collaborating brands, as well as experimental works by various directors made around the theme of lighting. Among the films in the program are: A Film About Light, Architecture and Health by Carlo Volf reflecting his work at the Aarhus School of Architecture; Dutch Light, directed by Pieter-Rim de Kroon; and Silence and Light, a documentary about Louis Kahn, a cult figure in the architectural world.

As an architect, educator, and philosopher, Louis Kahn played a prominent role in the history of 20th century architecture. An examination of six of his most significant buildings gives insight to his unique vision: The Salk Institute in La Jolla; the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth; the Center for British Art in New Haven; the library at Philips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire; the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and the Parliament Buildings of Bangladesh in Dhaka. The visits to the sites are enhanced with historic footage and sound recordings of Kahn.

Picture of Light takes the approach of a poetic essay documenting the search for a natural wonder; the mysterious Aurora Borealis. Its incorporeal lights and colors pouring from the sky lure a small film team of six to Canada's arctic. After strenuous and complicated technical preparations the crew set out on a 3000-mile train journey through practically uninhabited snowy landscapes to the end of the civilized world - Churchill, Manitoba.
